Underwater photography is my great escape from normal daily life. It totally immerses me (both figuratively and literally) in nature. In fact, in the hundreds of hours I’ve spent underwater, I’ve never for an instant thought about my day job; I am always fully "in the moment." Although I am doing more above-water photography (e.g., the bears under Galleries\Nature), I am still primarily drawn to the magical world beneath the sea.
WHAT'S NEW!
1. Indonesia May-June 2008 This amazing "exploratory" dive trip (from Raja Ampat to Lembeh) resulted in my most colorful photo collection yet!
2. Brown Bears of Katmai, Alaska (July, 2007)
3. For those of you in the Seattle area, my photos will be featured all of July at the Brief Encounter in Bellevue (open for breakfast and lunch 7-2 daily).
All profits from prints sold in the above Brief Encounter exhibit - or ordered on this site during the second half of 2008 - will go to the Int'l Children's Surgical Foundation, with the goal of funding a trip by their volunteer medical team to MANADO, Indonesia. I have been privileged to enjoy the unique marine beauty of that area, and this is a small way to give something back to that community.
CALENDAR SOLD OUT! My 2007 photo calendar raised over $12,000 for the PKD Foundation! Thanks to all who supported this effort by buying calendars!
