Underwater photography is my great escape from normal daily life. It totally immerses me (both figuratively and literally) in nature. In fact, in the hundreds of hours I’ve spent underwater, I’ve never for an instant thought about my day job; I am always fully "in the moment."
WHAT'S NEW!
1. My grinning shark photo won the "Oceans" division of the 2008 Nature's Best Photography competition! That means it is a full 2-page spread in the 2008 Collectors Edition of NBP Magazine (well worth subscribing to BTW!), and a 4ft by 5ft print was on display in the Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC for six months! What an honor!
2. NEWEST TRIP GALLERIES - Rangiroa, French Polynesia May 2009, and Indonesia May-June 2008, an amazing "exploratory" dive trip (from Raja Ampat to Lembeh) that resulted in my most colorful photo collection yet!
3. EXHIBITS - For those in the Seattle area, collections of my photos are on display at the Medina/Clyde Hill
Tully's Coffee House and Seattle's Underwater Sports.
All profits from my photography - prints sold in exhibits or ordered from this site, as well as income from photos published - currently go to the Int'l Children's Surgical Foundation. In conjunction with my company, Appropriate Balance, and donations from others, I've been able to raise over $20,000 for ICSF thus far - enough to fully fund one of their volunteer medical teams' trips to perform life-changing surgeries on children with facial deformities.
CALENDAR SOLD OUT! My 2007 photo calendar raised over $12,000 for the PKD Foundation! Thanks to all who supported this effort by buying calendars!
