Galapagos - Sept 2011
These photos were taken on a 10-day charter aboard Deep Blue in the Galapagos Islands in September of 2011. All were shot with a Canon 5D Mark II camera inside an Aquatica housing with one Ikelite DS200 strobe and one Inon strobe.

Mr. Big - the largest fish in the ocean. Whale sharks frequent the Galapagos to feed on plankton. This 30-35-foot whale shark was the first I've ever seen, so I was very excited (FINALLY!), even though he only stayed for a few seconds and I didn't get any great photos in the murky water. Sometimes the subject matter is compelling enough that it's OK just to document the fact that you were there, and this is one such case! Note: the diver at left provides a sense of scale.
