Pygmy seahorse (approx. 1/2 inch tall) - the tiniest type of seahorse/pipefish. Note how its body color and texture mimic the coral on which it lives!
Frogfish (the common name) are actually "anglerfish" - so named because they all have little "lures" on their forehead that can be waved in front of them to attract small fish, which they then gulp down. Generally mimicking big lumps of something - most often sponges - they are quite sedentary...sort of the "Jaba the Huts" of the underwater world. And frankly, they're so ugly they're cute!
Frogfish usually share the color and texture of the sponges on which they live. This one is 6-8 inches long.
