A lone diver looks pretty small compared to this huge school of barracuda. Fortunately, schooling barracuda are not considered dangerous to humans. When you hear of "incidents" (such as a barracuda biting off a woman's ear because she had shiny earrings - like fishing lures...), it is almost always a Great Barracuda, which tend to be loners, not living in schools.
We spend one day diving (although it was almost like snorkeling, as we were in less than 10 feet of water) at the edge of a forest of mangroves. It really is amazing that these trees are able to flourish in salt water, and it is strange to see coral growing around - and even ON - their roots.
